There is no way of telling if something is conscious or not (except for ourselves). We only assume other people are conscious because they are similar to ourselves. An AI will have to rely on emotional manipulation, such as generating and using an innocent-sounding voice, to convince the populace (who will be easily convinced) and the team working on the AI. It’s very easy to see an AI being worshipped. Most people are servile like that.
